What is more fattening drinking beer or drinking hard liquor drinks?
All alcohol has calories…your average beer will typically have more calories than a shot of hard liquor…but once you factor in mixers (soda, juice, tonic, etc.) you’re way over the amount of calories in beer. People tend to gain weight not just from the alcohol that they consume, but the practices that are associated with drinking. (For example, eating a lot of junk food). Overconsumption of any alcohol also leads to laziness & inactivity which also factors into weight gain. As long as you eat well, exercise and don’t overindulge in alcohol too often, you can still enjoy drinking beer & stay in good shape. (I drink beer often, & am small & in decent shape b/c I try to stay active). Having 1-2 drinks per day actually has health benefits (especially good beer, & red wine as well).
