What is more economical, a round or rectangle shape?
Generally said, rectangle shapes are more economical to make than round parts, especially at small quantities. At large and very large quantities, this cost difference gets significantly smaller but will never be on the same level. Of course this depends on the details but a rectangle part with moderate tolerances compared to a round part with same tolerances will typically be more economical.
