What is more durable,regular hardwood floor or laminate hardwood floor?
Solid hardwood is much more durable than Laminate. Also, when looking at solid hardwood some are considered “Solid” wood, but they have one kind on top (that you see) then a cheaper wood on the bottom. We installed Brazilian Cherry and there were many kinds that had Cherry on top (for 1/8 inch) and the rest was maple. Those kinds won’t last as long simply because with a true solid you can have it sanded and refinished with the same results and it can easily last 50+ years. However with a dog on either kind you will probably end up with scratches in the finish.
