What is Monism and Pantheistic Monism, Is it biblical?

0

Monism is the belief that everything that is is a part of a single “thing.” What that thing is varies depending on the particular form of monism under consideration. Pantheistic monism is the idea that everything is God, or a piece of God. Note that it differs from simple pantheism, which asserts that everything is *a* god. Pantheistic monism claims divinity for everything, but it also claims that everything is merely a manifestation of the same deity. Neither belief is consistent with Christian or Jewish thought, which emphasizes that people are separate from God, though made in his image. There have been some monist Christian sects, but they were invariable branded as heresies during early Church history. I don’t keep up with comparative theology much any more, but I suspect you’ll find a good number of monists among the Unitarian Universalists.
