What is Mip-mapping?
Enabling mip-mapping of texture mapped fonts can dramatically improve sharpness at large sizes and readability at small sizes. Mip-mapping capability is tested in our graphics lab as part of our card/driver qualification program, and is enabled wherever we think it works okay. In general, users should not need to change these settings. Setting bit 1 (value 0x2) in the Text Options registry entry for a given device driver [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREAutodeskInventorRegistryVersion8.0System GraphicsHardwareLibrary 2.0NVIDIA CorporationQUADRO4 900.*XGL/.*1.4.06.13.10.4072] “Text Options”=dword:00000002 or in the per-user Driver overrides area [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskInventorRegistry Version8.0SystemPreferencesDriver] “Text Options”=dword:00000002 enables mip-mapping.
