MiniSTR testing is a type of STR testing that that is specific for testing shorter pieces of DNA. This type of testing is beneficial in any circumstance where there is very little DNA, or where it is expected the DNA may be compromised due to environmental factors, such as UV exposure, extreme temperature and humidity, or mold growth.
