What is Milton Keynes like to live in?
People like to be rude about Milton Keynes, mostly people who haven’t lived there and who don’t know what they’re talking about. They mostly react to the fact that Milton Keynes is different to most UK cities (it’s planned and on a grid, like most US cities) and that different is somehow wrong. Lows of Milton Keynes: People find the roundabout system confusing, as each area looks pretty similar to many others. But the reality is it disperses traffic density across the whole city, rather than in bottlenecks. Sense of identity Identity takes years to evolve and naturally MK, being only 30 or so years old, has less of this. But it will come in time I suspect. Shopping centre For years Milton Keynes had very little night life: next to no clubs and only a bunch of local pubs.
