What is Midwest HIDTA?
High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTAs) are areas identified by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) as having the most critical drug trafficking problems adversely impacting the U.S. The Midwest HIDTA, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota, was created specifically to fight the spread of meth in the Midwest. It promotes a comprehensive, cooperative strategy by law enforcement at the federal, state and local levels to reduce drug trafficking.
