What is microsurgery and laser surgery of the back?
Microsurgery involves use of an operating microscope for magnification during surgery. It helps in better handling of delicate nerves and tissues and in reducing the size of the incision(the cut). It has limited application only for very specific problems. Alternatively, I use magnification loupes which give magnification upto 4 times the original size. This also helps to achieve nearly the same results as in microsurgery. Laser surgery is not a form of surgery, it is only a form of technique. Laser surgery for the back has very limited applications and the results are not yet promising.
