What is Microsoft Exchange?
Microsoft Exchange 2007 is a hosted application and messaging tool that makes collaboration easy for e-mail messages, calendars/schedules, contacts and tasks. All communication can be unified over the Network through Microsoft Outlook, mobile phones such as the iPhone or the Blackberry via Internet Browser.
Exchange 2003 is Microsoft Corporation’s messaging and calendaring product that works well with Windows computers, personal digital assistant (PDA) devices, and smart cell phones. One advantage Exchange 2003 provides is a single view of e-mail and calendaring using the Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2002 (XP) e-mail software. The product also has a web-based view, called “Outlook Web Access” (ArgoMail) that looks and operates remarkably similar to the full Outlook program.
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the Microsoft messaging and collaboration server, is software that runs on servers that enables you to send and receive electronic mail and other forms of interactive communication through computer networks. Exchange is designed to work with a software client e-mail application such as Microsoft Outlook. Exchange Server also works with Outlook Express and other e-mail client applications.
