What is metrodinazole and doxycycline antibiotics used for?
These are two very common antibiotics, and are used in a wide variety of infections. You can’t assume it is an STD just because you found those two drugs. Metronidazole is used with a number of parasitic infections, like Giardia (which causes recurring diarrhea). My dog was on it when he has some sort of gastroenteritis. It is also used with a number of different bacterial infections. Doxycycline is used for a lot of different infections (it is a common drug like penicillin used to be). Doxy is in the national stockpile for use against plague and anthrax, and is prescribed for many different kinds of infections. You can’t read much into finding those drugs, other than that the person was sick. Antobiotics are used for bacterial infections, and are not prescribed for viral infections, such as HIV, herpes, or hepatitis. If you are concerned about having an STD, visit your doctor or local health department.
