What is Medtronic doing to support the victims of the hurricane?
On Monday, September 1, the Medtronic Foundation announced it would match donations to the Red Cross from guests attending the Republican National Convention event that evening at World Headquarters. The matching funds will be used to help rebuild community clinics in the region. A combined total of $25,000 was raised to help recovery efforts on the Gulf Coast. In addition, the Medtronic Foundation supports the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society through ongoing support for recovery efforts. In 2007 Medtronic Foundation provided a five-year, $500,000 grant to support disaster relief around the world. Employees may also take up to five days of paid time off (with manager approval) to volunteer with a non-profit organization and assist with disaster recovery.
