According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of June 26, 2000, starting from October 1, 2000 foreigners visiting Belarus are subjects of obligatory medical insurance to be eligible for emergency medical care in Belarus. Belarusian nationals and legal persons Belarus residents could conclude obligatory medical insurance contracts in favour of their foreign guests prior to their visits. The insurance certificate (policy) are issued by the Belarusian insurance companies especially authorized by the Government, such as JSC Beleximgarant, JSC Belgosstrakh, or by foreign insurance companies.
