What is Medial Collateral Ligament?
This ligament is one of the most crucial ligaments which are responsible for the stability of our knees. It runs from the end of the thigh bone to the top of the shin bone. This ligament prevents the knee from opening up or widening of the inner part of the joint. What it does is that it resists the forces which can give a push to the knees medially. This avoids a valgus deformity. Valgus deformity refers to the outward angulation of the farthest part of the bone or the joint.
