What is meant by waterspout? How it was exists?
A waterspout is a columnar vortex that occurs over bodies of water, usually looking like a funnel-shaped cloud that is connected to a large cumuliform cloud at one end and the water at the other. In other words, it is a tornado that forms over water. They occur most often in tropical areas where thunderstorns are also more likely (e.g. the Florida Keys, where the surrounding oceans see an estiamted 400 or 500 waterspouts a year). When wind speeds get up to about 40mph, a vortex can occur between the clouds and the surface of the water – spray starts to kick up from the water in a circular pattern, and the beginnings of a funnel form underneath the clouds. The funnel gradually grows until it meets the water and lasts until the vortex weakens, often when rain starts to fall from the parent cloud. Sources: http://www.usatoday.com/weather/wspouts.
A waterspout is an intense columnar vortex (usually appearing as a funnel-shaped cloud) that occurs over a body of water and is connected to a cumuliform cloud. In the common form, it is a nonsupercell tornado over water, and brings the water upward. It is weaker than most of its land counterparts. Sources: http://en.wikipedia.
