Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are minerals and salts that have been dissolved by the water and form the chemistry of the water. Some of those minerals and contaminants are: Arsenic Barium Cadmium Copper Fluoride Lead Radium Selenium There are many more elements not listed and depending on the RO pressure, an RO system is very effective in eliminating or reducing to a safe level the TDS.
