What is meant by the terms, a “good source” or an “excellent source” of a nutrient?
The Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) define a food as a “good source” of a nutrient if it contains a minimum of 10% of the daily value (requirement) of that nutrient. To be called an “excellent source”, a food must contain at least 25% of the daily value of a specified nutrient. Kanga Koolerâ„¢ is a good source of protein and fiber, and a good source of 21 essential vitamins and minerals.
