What is meant by the term “licensed” public insurance adjuster?

0

It means that in virtually all jurisdictions the public insurance adjuster is tested, bonded, and authorized to practice his or her profession.

Essentially the licensed public insurance adjuster, is the only type of adjuster that is licensed by the states department of insurance and can legally represent a policyholder or claimant during a claim.  The other two types of insurance adjusters either work for the insurance companies (Staff Adjuster) or are hired independently by insurance companies (Independent Adjusters.) Bottom line, they work FOR the insurance company, not for YOU.
