What is meant by supervisor/mentor?
A supervisor/mentor is the person who is responsible for ‘training’ the apprentice/trainee at the worksite in the ‘day to day’ working environment. They also answer any questions the apprentice/trainee may have regarding their training or other aspects of their work. It is their responsibility to inform the apprentice/trainee of what it means to work for the employer, safety rules, codes of conduct, lunch breaks, OHS&W information etc. Supervisors/mentors should also ensure the apprentice/trainee is not harassed or bullied in the workplace.
