What is meant by “source” and “target” languages?
The “source” language is the original language in which the document was drafted – or, in the case of interpretation, in which the material was verbally expressed. The “target” language is the language in which the material (written or spoken) must be rendered. For example, if you have materials in English that you would like translated into Spanish, the source language is English and the target language is Spanish.
