What is meant by probation, suspension, and dismissal?
Probation is the University’s way of warning you that you are in an academic risk situation. Students with less than a 2.0 GPA (semester and/or FAU) are on probation. While on probation, if both your semester and FAU GPAs fall below 2.0, you will be suspended. However, if you registered for just a single course at FAU then you may have a deferred suspension: see an academic advisor. Suspension means you blocked from registering for courses at FAU for one term (fall, spring, or summer) before automatically being allowed to return. Suspended pre-business students must declare a non-selective major prior to being allowed to return to FAU; in most cases this will require returning pre-business students to change to another college and major program at FAU. The College of Business does not allow students to transfer in credit earned from any school while on suspension from FAU. After returning from suspension, if both your semester and FAU GPAs ever fall below 2.0, you will be dismissed fro
