What is meant by OEM and DSP software?
a. OEM means original equipment manufacturer and DSP stands for delivery service partner. OEM software is sold directly to a computer or hardware manufacturer, and will usually have the manufacturer’s name on it. DSP is more generic than OEM and will not have a manufacturer’s name on it. This is the easiest way to tell them apart. DSP is usually provided to smaller companies and hobbyists for their use in building computer systems. Both versions usually have help manuals on the CD, or may include a small Getting Started manual. Both OEM and DSP software normally function the same and have all the same features as the retail version of the software, but they do not come in a box or with any printed documentation. They do, however, come with a COA (certificate of authenticity) and the keys or serial numbers necessary to install the product. Further, OEM and DSP products do not come with tech support from the software manufacturer and usually cannot be transferred to a different computer
