What is meant by occupancy, and when can we move in?
Our target goal for classes is March 30th, which means that all code and LEED requirements have to be met prior to this date. When we get our occupancy permit, the building will be available for faculty and staff to occupy and perform their daily duties. Until then, we can move furniture in, set up systems, stock and supply the prep areas and labs and so forth. However, until we get the occupancy certificate we cannot conduct our normal business. We are anticipating the occupancy permit in the second week of March. Until then, faculty and staff will have to “work” in their current spaces, but can prepare the new space for moving in.
