What is meant by informal mentoring?
By indicating you are open to the possibility of informal mentoring, we do not mean you’re committing to a structured mentorship program, but simply that you may be willing to speak to students more than once, depending on the specific situation. Possible scenarios include agreeing to meet (or talk by phone or email) with the student at regular intervals over several months, as the student works towards their goals. Again, this would be up to you, as you are always able to decide what level of involvement works best with your busy schedule. You can choose the level of involvement that is right for you!
