• have high levels of interest, involvement and legitimacy (stated legal, moral or presumed claims) upon the organization’s outcomes, activities, behaviour, direction and processes; • have very strong perceptions of gain or loss by the organization’s presence and activities; • are self-representing, i.e. individual opinion leaders or in well-organized groups at the local, provincial, national and international level; • tend to have specific expectations about the organization, and when their needs surface, they can or may require immediate attention for whatever reasons; as such, they range from supportive, to marginally supportive to non-supportive, to non-supportive in terms of influence on the organization.
