What is meant by “hand-forged” in respect of metal beds?
Solid steel metal rods are heated in a blacksmith’s forge and hammered onto an anvil to achieve the desired shape. A jig is used to ensure consistency of design and size. All the prepared pieces are welded together to create the final product. The welds and any rough areas are sanded down to give a clean yet natural finish to the steel. Finally the product is baked to give a hard-wearing surface finish.
