What is meant by Frontier?
Frontier is commonly defined as counties with a population density of six or fewer people per square mile, but like rural, there is no official definition of what “frontier” means. The definition is based on other factors such as travel distance in miles to the nearest medical facility and travel time to the nearest medical facility.
