What is meant by an inheritance dispute or contentious probate?
Quite simply, an inheritance dispute relates to any dispute regarding to a person’s estate, more specifically how it is to be divided. For instance, where a person’s Will or, where they have no Will, intestacy (see below) does not make reasonable financial provision for someone who was dependant upon them or closely related, the law allows that person to make a claim on the estate.
