What is meant by a joint Department of Architecture and Engineering?
In the first semester of first year the Architecture and Civil Engineering students share lectures and design projects, and in later years work together on specific design projects. In so-doing both groups learn common skills which they will need when in practice. They develop the ability to communicate effectively with one another and gain an understanding and appreciation of all aspects of building design.
