A flag fall or connection fee is the once off amount that is deducted for every call. This fee is charged by some card providers. It usually allows the provider to provide a cheaper per minute rate. This may be suitable for longer duration calls. Some card providers do not charge a flag fall or connection fee and this may be better for shorter duration calls.
