What is mean Rigging in animation?

A better (I suppose) [FYI – I’m assuming u have a fair knowledge of 3D modelling] Well take rig at its literal meaning. It means to attach [u can check up online for various meanings]. Any ways, ya so rigging in terms of animation means to attach a skeleton to the model that has been created by you. The object is a surface consisting of vertices and nodes. Animating such an object can get very complicated because of that reason. So a thing called the bone or skeleton has been developed. Now the skeleton or bone system has to be attached to make your object move. This process is known as Rigging. Then the skeleton is animated and since it is rigged with the model the model moves too. N ya like our frend said the bone system is not rendered only the surface is. So if u have a few bones sticking out dont worry it wont show in your final render.
