What is maximized efficiency hybrid technology?
The maximized efficiency hybrid solar / geothermal concept developed by Turner Building Science & Design, LLC. incorporates 500′ to 1500′ deep borehole heat exchangers with concentrically piped closed loops which are more environmentally friendly than the large open loop geothermal systems being designed and installed by others. This technology is not what might be called a hybrid system as compared to other hybrid systems. The use of the term hybrid in more traditional systems simply means that sometimes the geothermal is heating the building, and sometimes, when its colder, the boiler is heating the building so the geothermal equipment can be downsized. With the maximized efficiency hybrid solar / geothermal concept system, there is one operating system that takes advantage of as many of the system efficiency factors as possible, integrating them into a single system in order to reduce the size of each component.
