What is master planning?
Master planning investigates a wide range of development options to determine which is preferred. Over the past six months, many options have been developed in response to stakeholder consultation, the functional requirements of the hospital and site conditions and opportunities, such as a north facing entrance to protect it from the southerly winds. From these options the preferred option has been identified as best meeting the needs of the hospital, including its patients staff and visitors, in a way that complemented the current and potential future uses of Macquarie Point while minimising impacts on community values such as views to and from the Cenotaph.
