What is marshaling?
Parents do NOT take swimmers to the blocks, and are not permitted on the pool deck. During a meet, as each event approaches, swimmers for the event are gathered together, or ‘marshaled’. The swimmers will be lined up accordingly and led to the blocks when it is time for the event. It is the swimmer’s responsibility to know what events he/she is swimming, and when that event is approaching. It may be helpful to write the swimmer’s events, heats, lanes on their hand upon arrival.
