What is Marine Division recon and how do you become one?
Division recon is a company of Reconnaissance Marines that report to the division commander and are under his control. To be one you must pass their indoctrination (indoc). This is a physical test that consists of a great deal of running and swimming. If you pass this test they will take you and you will enter their training program. Eventually you will go to Basic Reconnaissance Course. If you pass that you get the MOS 0321 and become a Recon Marine. Currently their missions are not that different from the regular infantry, but they are trained for missions involving recon behind enemy lines in advance of large operations in the Marine Division. They typically train in scuba and airborne insertion techniques as well as a variety of helicopter insertions.
