What is male patient modesty?
Male modesty is the level of anxiety felt, by a paitent antcipated or experienced by a patient when nudity or exposure is required. Male Patient Modesty is measured by the level of accomodation or coverage it takes to make a patient comfortable during medical examinations and procedure. Just as with female modesty it is subjective to the specific individual. One person may be fine with opposite gender caregivers for intimate exams another person might not. While I do not want to be laid out nude in the OR for a shoulder surgery in front of nurses, I can accept it if I am out before the exposure, others may not care at all, and others may avoid the surgery because it causes so much anxiety.
