If it’s missing and blowing white smoke, then somebody’s missed something…you are definitely burning antifreeze. Assuming you’ve checked for blown head gaskets, & checked the heads and block for cracks/damage/warping, it may be an internal water jacket crack somewhere in the block that only opens when under a load. Now if it is bluish white smoke, it is burning oil… worn rings are the primary cause there. Hope this helped.
