What is MaineCare Home Health?
MaineCare Home Health is a health insurance program, similar to Medicare Home Health, which provides skilled services to individuals with MaineCare who meet the medical requirements of the program. This program does not have age or disability limitations; it requires that the consumer need part-time or intermittent skilled nursing care no less than twice per month, or physical therpay services, or speech-language pathology services, or occupational therpay services as part of a planned program. In addition to these services, the program also covers home health aide services, medical social services and medical supplies. This program also has a Hospice benefit for those who qualify. There are limitations regarding which program this funding can be provided with in order to avoid duplication of services. This program also has timeframes for how long services can be provided.
