What is mail bombing and spamming and why shouldn I do it?
Spamming or bombing is when you send the same e-mail message to hundreds or even thousands of people or posting a news article to many news groups. You shouldn’t do it because it upsets people to receive spam mails and to have to read through crossposts on news groups. You will receive lots of e-mails complaining about it, and webmaster@techinfo.com.au also gets lots of complaints. At its worst, so many e-mail complaints might be coming in as to overload the server and stopping everyone else from using the Internet – this is called a ‘denial of service attack’ and if you are found to have perpetrated it you will have your account canceled with no refund as per our Terms & Conditions. Also, posting to the wrong news group and particularly advertising on news groups annoys people immensely. Before posting to a news group consider how appropriate your message is to that group and only post advertising articles to those groups that specifically allow it.
