What is low-latency channel switching?
When you change from one channel to another (where the second channel is not next to the first), the application will instantly start the next channel with the absolutely minimum required buffer. This mean that the channel change will happen very fast. While you start hearing the new channel, the buffer will start build up, thus allowing the system to be resistent to skips and errors in the stream. Please note that you can disable this feature in the “Advanced settings” in the configuration dialogue under “Enable instant start” (enabled by default).
