Lonestar is the code-name for the next version of Microsoft’s Tablet PC OS, dubbed Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2004. The software giant was originally going to ship Lonestar as a separate add-on for Tablet PC users, but decided to include the bits in XP SP2: If you install XP SP2 on a Tablet PC system, you’ll get the Lonestar updates as well.
