The State of Vermont has authorized certain jurisdictions to assess an additional 1% Local Option Meals and Rooms Tax. Local Option Meals & Rooms Tax applies to meals, alcohol and lodging furnished in a Local Option Jurisdiction. Meals and beverages subject to Vermont Meals and Rooms tax which are delivered into a Local Option Jurisdiction are subject to the Local Option Meals and Rooms tax. There are currently six jurisdictions (Williston, Stratton, Stowe, Brattleboro, Dover and South Burlington) that have Local Option Meals, Alcohol & Rooms tax. Manchester has a Local Option Meals & Alcohol Tax. There is currently no provision for a Local Option Rooms tax in Manchester.
