What is Local Government Challenge?

The Local Government Challenge is an exciting new competition, which seeks out talented individuals and tests their ingenuity, creativity, ability to lead and potential to become top local government executives. The competition: Round 1 – team challenges A “heats” stage, to take place at intervals over a five month period, will test 10 candidates in a series of tasks undertaken in teams, designed and hosted by local authorities. Each challenge will be held over one day. Round 2 – elimination challenge Four finalists will then go head-to head at the LGA group conference in Bournemouth 2010, facing a panel of leading local government figures. Round 3 – the interview The two most outstanding contestants will face a final interview panel to win the 2009 Local Government Challenge. The competition will be televised by the Local Government Channel and will receive high-profile media coverage. Career
