What is “life science”?
Life science has two sides: on the one hand it is a field of research dealing with the scientific understanding of living organisms, including humans; on the other hand it is a vital segment of the economy of the United States and indeed the entire world. These two dimensions are interconnected in that scientific research leads to innovations that benefit society as new products and services, often delivered via commercial enterprise.
A. It’s a seventh-grade life science curriculum. About a third of the year includes work with inquiries, scientific method. Then two-thirds of the year would be a very basic life science class, characteristics of living things, chemistry of living things, cell theory, germ theory, at a very basic level.
