What is Life Cycle Management?
The WEEE and RoHS Directives aims at manage the entire product life cycle from stage of design to waste management so as to mitigate impact to the environment. The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) focuses on the design stage by restricting the use of hazardous substances which cause a threat to the environment and human life. The focus of Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) places on the stage of EOL (End of Life) to minimize waste of resources. The diagram below demonstrates the relationship of the EU Directives to the Produce Life Cycle.
