What is Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)?
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or also known as Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the States is a graduate of a practical nursing program that lasts about 1 year to 18 months. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the Nurse Certificate and Licensing Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) of which there is also a testing site in Hong kong. An LPN or LVN provides basic bedside care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. Most LPNs and LVNs work in hospitals,nursing and home healthcare facilities.
