What is LCRA Transmission Services Corporation (LCRA TSC)?
Legislation passed in 1999 restructured the state’s electric industry and allowed LCRA to offer transmission services throughout Texas, not just in LCRA’s electric service area. Provisions of Texas Senate Bill 7 required utilities to separate electric generation and transmission businesses. As a result, LCRA created LCRA Transmission Services Corporation (LCRA TSC) in 2001 to meet these requirements. As of January 1, 2002, all of LCRA’s transmission assets were transferred to this nonprofit corporation. LCRA TSC currently owns or leases more than 4,400 miles of transmission lines, approximately 300 substations and a state-of-the-art system operations control center. LCRA personnel operate and maintain those facilities for LCRA TSC, which provides transmission services to LCRA’s wholesale electric customers and other customers in South, West and Central Texas. –back to top– What is the McCamey B to North McCamey Project?
