What is lateral thinking and which techniques are they?
Lateral thinking is a technique to problem solving. It simply means that when you are faced with a problem, (i.e. needing to finish painting a wall went you’ve just broken your roller), you need to think of a solution. What tool can do the job? If you think of what tools can perform similar to a roller, it won’t take you long to think of a paint brush. When you reach this conclusion, then you’ve used lateral thinking. All it means is to think along the same lines as, (i.e. roller/brush=painting tools), but from as many different angles as need be to come to a solution.
