What is laminate flooring and what is it made of?
Laminate flooring is a mutli layer engineered floor panel which usually consists of 4 layers: Wear Layer- A transparent scratch and stain resistant wear layer constructed with a durable melamine layer filled with aluminum oxide (corundum). Photo Layer- A melamine resin impregnated paper featuring high definition photographs of various wood grains Core Layer- The core is constructed of a high quality, high density moisture-resistant fiberboard ( HDF) manufactured with water resistant glue. Stabilizing Layer- A moisture resistant stabilizing layer that is also impregnated with melamine resin and is of a thickness to balance the product.
