Label candy is a term used for an ingredient in a product in the skin care industry or supplement industry used to sell a product. Often weak (inexpensive, watered down) extracts are put on the label to encourage a person to buy something that contains what turns out to be very little of the ingredient they are boasting about. You see them, extracts of: valerian root, white willow, horse tail, licorice root, calendula, comfrey, rosemary and it goes on and on (sounds like potions from a Harry Potter movie). If you could find any significant amounts of these ingredients (and I doubt you will) they still wouldn’t do anything for your skin other than to get you to buy the product. In other words they are label candy. They perform no useful function to helping the skin. ALL they do is to get you to buy a product filled with sulfurs, artificial soaps and un-pronounceable ingredients.
